Looking for a hair experience like no other? Meet Jenny, the co-owner and operator of The Chair. With over 19 years of experience in the hair industry, training in Paris and NYC, and working with some of the biggest names in fashion, Jenny is dedicated to bringing luxury hair services to Amsterdam.
Jeffrey (co-owner) has more than 25 years of experience in the hair industry. Jeffrey worked all over the world and started The Chair in 2014.
Lea is an all-round creative and top stylist for curls. Specialized in curls she is trained in devacut dry cut, the curly girl method, guaranteeing your curls are in good hands! Lea has not only worked with curls behind the chair, she has also worked with many major fashion brands such as Versace, D&G and Acne Studios.
Anouk is a top stylist specialized in color. She has been active in the industry for 5 years and has already made enormous strides, cementing herself in the Amsterdam hair industry. Trained in-salon she has developed a wide range, from beautiful natural balayages to some more out of the box fashion colors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to book a consultation if it’s my first time at the salon?
For any color services (highlights, permanent & semi-permanent color, balayage, bleaching) we require a consultation before booking your initial appointment. Please come prepared with picture references of the color or style of service you have in mind and one our specialists can advise you on what kind of service would be best for you!
I’ve never had color done on my hair before ( virgin hair ) should I come in for an allergy test?
Yes definitely! We advise anyone who’s never had color done before or if it’s been over 12 months since your last color service to have an allergy test done before booking a service. This can be done in the salon with one of our stylists as a skin test on your neck or wrist to determine sensitivity.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
We allow any color service to be canceled 48 hours prior to their appointment and haircut appointments to be canceled 24 hrs prior to their service date. If you cancel after those time frames, you will be charged for the full service, unless we are able to fill your spot with another service.
Do I need to give a deposit for a Color service?
As we are a freelance chair-renting salon, our policy varies per stylist. Before booking your appointment with your preferred stylist, they will advise you on their deposit policy to book a service with them.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept Cash, Visa, and Mastercard (no Tikkie payments, only for tips)
How can I get a price quote?
The best way to get an accurate price quote is to pick the stylist you’d like to do the service with, book a consultation, and we’ll be happy to give you a quote. As we are freelance hair stylists, we have our own prices per service. You can always stop by the salon and we’ll be happy to help in person.
Do you accept walk-in appointments?
Yes we do, generally some of our stylists do have a full book weeks in advance and work only on certain days, we do suggest to you call or text us before to make sure your preferred stylist is available. If you have no preference, stop by our salon and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request!
Which Types of Payment do you Accept?
we only accept credit cards and pin.
Do you offer refunds?
We don’t not offer refunds on any services or products purchased. Please speak with your stylist with any questions you have regarding a service.
